All too often a game is touted as the “New Axie,” but with no evidence to back it up. Now however, “My DeFi Pet,” may be a genuine contender to the Axie throne.
My DeFi Pet has existed in the space for 3 months, but in that short amount of time it has grown into a force to be reckoned with. Over the last month, the native DPET token has seen a phenomenal 749% increase in value, over the last seven days it has shot up 285%. Furthermore, the previous 24 hours alone, has seen a downturn defying 12% increase in price.
Going into the all-important school holiday season, popularity of the pet care simulation is exploding. Whereas Axie has run into a few server issues, My DeFi Pet has continued unhindered.
In the vein of Pokemon-styled games, My DeFi Pet allows you to collect, breed, evolve and eventually battle your virtual pets. Cute graphics and polished mechanics enable for an altogether pleasant experience. The CPU-friendly interface also works rather well on a low-end laptop.
With play-to-earn being every gamer’s dream scenario, it was only a matter of time before developers started hitting on a winning formula. The next big question for My DeFi Pet – Is it just a flash in the pan or will it keep on going? Only time will tell.
